We’ve talked a lot about gaming headsets, but let’s not forget wireless earbuds like Sony’s Inzone Buds.
These earbuds are great for gaming without cords getting in the way. They support 360 Spatial Audio on PCs and Tempest 3D Audio on PS5, making the sound experience amazing. Plus, Sony included some of their top audio tech to make these buds good for more than just gaming.
When it comes to blocking out noise, the Inzone Buds stand out. Sony is famous for its noise-canceling abilities, and they didn’t hold back with these gaming earbuds. The same drivers used in their top-tier WF-1000XM5 earbuds are found here too.
With a battery life of up to 12 hours on one charge, these earbuds last long enough for most gaming sessions. The design also makes them comfy to wear by reducing ear contact.
Fans will love the versatility of these buds.
Just like Sony’s over-ear headphones–such as the high-end Inzone H9, which almost made our list–the Inzone Buds are perfect for PC gamers. Using the Inzone Hub Windows app, you can tweak your audio settings and save them directly to the earbuds.
These earbuds also work well with PS5. They connect using a USB-C dongle that comes with them. You can use them with other devices that have audio-supported USB-C ports like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck too.
For mobile users, things change a bit. If you have a new Android phone with Bluetooth LE, you can skip the dongle if you want. But iPhone users will need to use it since Apple hasn’t added Bluetooth LE yet. For iPhone 15 users, this isn’t a big deal unless your phone case is really bulky; then you might need a USB-C extender for the dongle to fit. If your iPhone still uses Lightning ports, you’ll need an adapter that supports audio output.
Just to clear things up: Sony Electronics made and released the Inzone Buds before PlayStation’s Pulse Explore earbuds. Though both cost the same and have noise-canceling tech, Inzone Buds offer better sound quality and design. However, Pulse Explore does support standard Bluetooth.
