Activision Bans Thousands of Black Ops 6 Players, Calls for More Action

-

Activision is tackling the problem of cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Ranked playlist, trying hard to keep them out.

The company says they’ve already kicked out thousands of players and continue to do so around the clock. But some well-known streamers aren’t too happy and have been speaking up. According to a

from Activision, their fancy Ricochet anti-cheat system is getting better and faster with new updates to catch those pesky cheaters. Since Ranked play started last week, over 19,000 players have been banned, and Ricochet is scanning every hour to boot more out.

However, some streamers like Nadeshot think it’s all just talk. He

that it’s “complete propaganda,” wondering how cheaters are still openly spinning around in streams while supposedly so many accounts are banned. “Are we crazy? What is going on,” he exclaimed. And then there’s Westie, who feels that these Ricochet updates are pointless because nothing seems to change. According to him, “It feels like the anti-cheat has been turned off.”

Sometimes, fans just want a fair game without all this mess.

There’s also a fuss about console players being forced into cross-play with PC gamers. Many believe using a mouse and keyboard is way more accurate, making it unfair for those on controllers. Plus, cheating is usually simpler on PCs than on consoles, which adds to the complaints.

Meanwhile, Activision has reduced the number of players for Warzone’s new Area 99 map and celebrated Black Ops 6’s record-breaking launch, partly thanks to Game Pass.
