Alan Wake 2 is gearing up for a significant update with fresh improvements and accessibility features, coming out on October 22.
This update, celebrating its first birthday, brings cool stuff like a fast-turn option, ways to flip the X-axis on your mouse or controller, and better haptic feedback on the PS5. Plus, gyro-aiming and haptics will now kick in when you heal or throw things, not just when you’re using weapons.
If you’re more into the story and puzzles, there are new options to make gameplay easier, like invincibility, unlimited ammo, and one-shot kills, similar to what was offered in Control. These settings can help if you’re stuck in a tricky spot and want to keep the story rolling.
Here’s the full list of features:
- Quick turn
- Auto-complete QTE
- Button tapping to a single tap
- Weapon charging with taps
- Healing items with taps
- Lightshifter with taps
- Player invulnerability
- Player immortality
- One-shot kill
- Infinite ammo
- Infinite flashlight batteries
Last year, Alan Wake 2 got its first DLC, Night Springs, and now another expansion called The Lake House is dropping on October 22. This new adventure ties closely with Control and shows a glimpse of Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother, possibly trapped in the spooky Lake House. Players, as FBC Agent Estevez, need to unravel this eerie mystery.
Remedy isn’t slowing down; they’re also working on remaking the first two Max Payne games and developing FBC: Firebreak, a multiplayer game in the Control universe.
