The worlds of Alan Wake and Control have always been connected, and now, with Alan Wake 2’s DLC, The Lake House, they become even more intertwined.
If you haven’t experienced Alan Wake 2: The Lake House yet, beware of spoilers ahead!
In this new adventure, players step into the shoes of Agent Kiran Estevez, working for the Federal Bureau of Control. During her journey, she finds herself mysteriously transported to the Oldest House, which was once the hub of the FBC and where Control took place. There, she bumps into Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden’s brother, who drops some puzzling hints about the fate of the FBC.
Dylan casually throws in a mention of Jesse before Kiran is whisked away from the Oldest House, leaving behind a whirlwind of mysterious locations. It’s revealed that the Oldest House has been silent for four years, sparking curiosity about Jesse’s whereabouts since Control’s events.
Fans love it when stories connect in such unexpected ways.
These games crossing paths isn’t new. Control’s AWE DLC already dipped into Alan Wake’s narrative, letting Jesse glimpse Alan through strange visions.
Although Control 2’s release date remains a mystery, Remedy is teaming up with Annapurna Pictures to co-create the game, exploring possibilities for TV and movie adaptations of Alan Wake and Control.
