Assassin’s Creed Game from 2014 Receives 60fps Update

-

In a surprising twist, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will soon run at 60fps on today’s consoles through a complimentary update.

On November 19, players will see this update in action, bringing not just smoother gameplay but also dazzling 4K visuals for those using Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, or the latest PS5 Pro. If you’re on PlayStation, expect a tiny .75 GB download; Xbox folks, brace yourselves for a whopping 32 GB download.

Strangely, Ubisoft hasn’t explained why this update is happening now, almost ten years after the game’s debut. They simply urged everyone to “discover, or rediscover, this classic on new generation consoles.” Set during the Industrial Revolution in London, Syndicate was groundbreaking as it introduced us to the dual protagonists, Jacob and Evie Frye. Jacob, the brawler, and Evie, the stealthy shadow, offer players a choice depending on their preferred playstyle or mission needs. Syndicate followed Assassin’s Creed Unity, which was infamous for its hilarious bugs that made headlines.

Fans sometimes wonder why these updates come out of nowhere.

Recently, Ubisoft pushed back the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan, aiming to “polish and refine the experience” after Star Wars Outlaws didn’t quite meet expectations. Initially planned for this November, Shadows will now be available on February 14, 2025, featuring two switchable heroes, Yasuke, an African samurai, and the ninja-like Naoe.
