A supposed leak has surfaced online, showing off what might be a battle pass for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, packed with rewards that players can earn when the game comes out next year.
If the leak is real, it’ll be a first for Assassin’s Creed to have a battle pass, where gamers can tackle daily tasks in a new Animus hub to unlock cool outfits and weapon skins. Ubisoft hasn’t said anything official about this yet, but they did hit a Reddit post with a takedown notice—those pictures were found by a dataminer named Fraxiswinning and spread around on social media.
Among the leaked goodies are sci-fi-themed weapon designs, shiny armor, mythical creatures to ride, and other helpful stuff for the game. One picture even shows Yasuke, one of the main characters, hanging out in the Animus hub.
We think it’s kinda fun when games add new ways to dress up characters.
Cosmetic stuff isn’t really new for Assassin’s Creed, though. Through the Ubisoft Connect app, players have been unlocking gear by finishing challenges for a long time now. Not too long ago, there was this character Reda who sold rare items for a special currency called Opals, which could be bought with real money if you wanted.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was originally set to come out in October, but now it’s pushed to February 14, 2025, giving developers extra time to make everything perfect. This game will also help set up future titles, as it’ll fit into the Assassin’s Creed Infinity hub, a place where the current storyline will keep unfolding.
Marc-Alexis Coté, who leads the Assassin’s Creed team, mentioned they’re trying to give the modern-day storylines a fresh twist.
