Black Myth Wukong Xbox Port Delay Blamed on Series S

-

The release of Black Myth: Wukong for Xbox has hit a snag because of the Series S’s memory issues.

On Weibo, a popular Chinese app, Feng Ji from GameScience explained that the Xbox Series S, with its 10GB of shared memory, is causing trouble with optimization. While Microsoft had previously claimed that Xbox hardware wasn’t to blame for the delay, this isn’t the first time the Series S has faced such challenges.

Remember when Baldur’s Gate 3 had a late arrival on Xbox in 2023? That was also because of technical hiccups with the Series S. At one point, people thought Black Myth: Wukong was going to be exclusive to PlayStation 5, but nobody officially confirmed that.

Black Myth: Wukong didn’t nab the Game of the Year title at The Game Awards 2024, though it did take home the Best Action Game prize. Over at

, it did win Game of the Year, so that’s a big deal.
