Activision is gearing up to launch Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and it’s packed with exciting updates.
Among the new melee weapons making their debut, a power drill stands out with its rapid attack speed and ability to deliver a two-hit knockout at close quarters. Players can unleash various moves like sweeps, jabs, and uppercuts, with the heavy attack being particularly forceful. Activision describes it as perfect for breaking through when things get intense: “This weapon is ideal for putting a hole in the competition when the going gets tough.” While details about unlocking the drill remain a mystery, players can earn it as an event reward during the season, with customization options and mastery badges available. So far, no videos show how the drill works in action, which adds a bit of suspense.

Another melee weapon joining the fray is the cleaver, boasting a one-hit kill capability at short to medium range. With a moderate attack speed, it can deal with several foes at once and offers a powerful heavy swing. Although the cleaver’s ability to be thrown is uncertain, it seems unlikely. Just like the power drill, the cleaver has 30 levels, mastery badges, and can be personalized with different skins. Players can also unlock it through event rewards.
Besides these weapons, Peter Stormare’s The Replacer becomes a playable character, and players can enjoy new maps, modes, and weapons, along with the fresh Warzone map, Area 99. For more details, you can check out Activision’s blog post and stay in the loop with all the Season 1 updates.
