Black Ops 6 Progression, Prestige, Unlocks, & Rewards Explained

-

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is launching this Friday, and there’s a ton to know about leveling up!

Leveling up in Black Ops 6

Jumping into multiplayer or Zombies mode gives players the chance to rack up XP from day one, while Warzone will join the fun in Season 1. There are 55 levels to climb, each unlocking cool stuff like weapons, perks, and operators.

In the Black Ops 6 lobby, players can keep track of their journey by heading to the Barracks tab.

Here’s what’s waiting for you as you level up from 1 to 55:

  • Default and Custom Loadouts
  • Primary, Secondary, and Melee Weapons
  • Tacticals and Lethals
  • Field Upgrades and Perks
  • Wildcards and Scorestreaks
  • Ammo Mods and GobbleGums
  • Operators and Emotes
  • All the features you could want

Oh, and all GobbleGums are already unlocked in Zombies from the start, but extra bonus ones come as you level up.

Prestige System in Black Ops 6

The classic prestige system is back, and now it’s up to players to decide if they want to reset their level after reaching 55. This brings back that nostalgic choice!

Choosing to prestige means going back to level 1 and starting the unlock journey again, but don’t worry, some things stay as they are:

  • Weapon progression, camos, and reticles stay unlocked
  • Custom weapon builds stick around
  • Challenges and store content remain accessible
  • Operator and emote unlocks are safe
  • And those trusty Zombies GobbleGums

While it might seem like a hassle to unlock everything again, each prestige level comes with its own set of rewards.

Hitting Prestige 1 gives you:

  • A shiny Prestige 1 Icon
  • The “Nacht Raider” Weaver operator skin
  • Access to the Prestige 1 challenge sets
  • One permanent unlock to keep an item from locking next time

And every 10 levels, there’s a special Prestige reward waiting for you.

There are 10 Prestige levels, and after completing them, you become a Master Prestige, reaching level 1,000 with even more rewards on the horizon.

All About Camos, Reticles, and Badges

Get ready for the return of calling card and camo challenges! Plus, there are “Dark Ops” challenges hidden throughout the game.

Camo Challenges

This time around, each weapon has nine Military camos and two Special Camo Swatches. You can earn these special ones in any order, but first, you have to unlock them.

Once unlocked, Special camos are universal for any weapon, as long as you’ve completed Military Camos for at least one mode.

Once you’ve got both sets, the Mastery camo grind begins. Multiplayer, Zombies, and even Warzone now offer four Mastery camos each.

Unlocking Reticles

There are 10 reticles to unlock in each mode. To get them, just aim-down-sights and get kills using the optic in the right mode.

Each optic’s reticles are separate, so you can work on your favorite one with any compatible weapon.

Though all weapons can share optics, sniper rifles have some exclusive ones.

Calling Cards

Calling cards come in categories, each with sets to complete. Finish a set to snag the animated mastery calling card.

Prestiging grants access to new challenge sets for multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.

So, with 10 Prestiges and Prestige Master, there’s a total of 11 sets to tackle in every mode.

Mastery Badges

Mastery badges add another layer of excitement. They celebrate your achievements with medals and a little XP bonus.

There are over 200 medals to earn in multiplayer and Zombies, including some never-before-seen ones.

Fans love discovering new stuff, don’t we?

You can check your medals in the After Action Report or the Medal Collection tab after each match.
