Borderlands 4: Gearbox Plans Early Preview for Terminally Ill Fan

-

A 37-year-old with terminal cancer has a dream: to play Borderlands 4 before it’s officially released.

It all kicked off with a heartfelt post by Caleb McAlpine on Reddit. Caleb shared his tough situation, explaining he’s battling stage 4 cancer and might not have much time left, even with chemotherapy. Randy Pitchford, the big guy at Gearbox, saw Caleb’s post and is now trying to make this wish come true. The two of them have been chatting through emails, hoping to turn this dream into reality.

There’s hope that Caleb might get a sneak peek of the game as soon as next month. He updated everyone on Reddit, saying, “Thank you everyone for your kind words, I just want to let you all know that Gearbox has something in the works, and I will be going down to Texas to meet with all of them at their HQ as long as I’m able to travel toward the middle of November, end of November.” This made many people smile because it showed how much support there is for him.

We all hope Caleb gets his wish.

In August, the big news dropped at Gamescom: Borderlands 4 was officially announced! Everyone had been buzzing with rumors, and finally, they shared a teaser. It looks like the game is planned for 2025, and there’s talk of someone even more dangerous than Handsome Jack.

Recently, they showed off some cool concept art of a new planet for Borderlands 4. Fans are excited because the game picks up right after Borderlands 3 and will be available on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The last game was only on the Epic Games Store at first, so this is a big change.
