In June, Xbox gave us a peek at Atomfall, a game that feels a bit like Fallout but has its own twist.
On March 27, 2025, Rebellion Developments will launch Atomfall, a survival-action game set in a spooky English forest known as Casterfell Woods. A teaser trailer shows off this eerie place where strange things might happen. If you want to see it, check out the video below:
Does the red phone booth remind you of Doctor Who? That’s no accident! Ben Fisher from Rebellion mentioned on Xbox’s official site that the game took inspiration from this iconic series. Atomfall’s story branches off from the 1950s, mixing history and fiction, and even touches on the real-life Windscale fire of 1957, which helps shape its dark future.
Surviving in the game means not just figuring out what happened at Windscale but also avoiding danger in Casterfell Woods. There’s a mysterious voice on the phone saying, “Oberon must die.” Oberon, a name from Shakespeare’s play, is intriguing, though we don’t know why it’s used here. We are all curious about the choice of names and what secrets lie behind them.
Atomfall will hit multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Plus, it’ll be on Game Pass right when it’s released.
