Brock Lesnar, Vince McMahon Excluded from WWE 2K24 Roster Due to Controversy

-

So, big news dropped today from 2K Sports. They’ve finally unveiled the full lineup for WWE 2K24. And guess what? It’s packed with over 200 wrestlers spanning the company’s rich history. But, hold up—two big names are conspicuously missing. Yep, you guessed it: Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar are nowhere to be found.

Now, about Vince McMahon. His absence might not be that shocking, considering the recent storm he’s been in. There’s this lawsuit, see, filed by a former WWE employee. It’s pretty heavy stuff, alleging all sorts of misconduct, including sexual assault and trafficking. This whole mess led to McMahon stepping down from his throne at WWE’s parent company, TKO. And it’s not his first rodeo with controversy, either. He dipped out once before in July 2022 after similar allegations surfaced, only to make a comeback right before WWE was sold to Endeavor.

Oh, and about the video stuff – you’ll need a modern browser to catch those clips. Seems like there’s always some technical catch, right? And, uh, you gotta input your birthday to watch. It’s all about those terms of use and privacy policies. Gotta click ‘enter’ to dive in.

Then there’s the trailer for WWE 2K24, dubbed “Showcase Of The Immortals.” Looks epic, doesn’t it?

Back to the roster drama. Brock Lesnar’s also been scrubbed from the game, including the 40 Years Of Wrestlemania edition’s cover art. His past Wrestlemania glory, like that jaw-dropping win over The Undertaker, might be MIA in the game’s Showcase mode. Both Lesnar and McMahon were staples in the WWE 2K series for years. Yet, 2K’s been tight-lipped about why they’re suddenly gone.

But hey, it’s not all doom and gloom. The game’s roster is still stellar. Cover stars Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair are in, alongside big names like Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch. Legends? They’ve got Andre The Giant, The Undertaker, and Hulk Hogan. Plus, fresh faces from NXT like Ilya Dragunov and Nikkita Lyons are joining the fray.

WWE 2K24’s dropping on March 8, hitting all the major platforms. And for those who can’t wait, preordering the Deluxe or Collector’s Edition gets you in on March 5. So, mark your calendars.
