Activision has revealed that Black Ops 6 won’t have early access for its story mode.
Unlike earlier Call of Duty games, where players who preordered could dive into the campaign a week early, this time the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes will all be available at once on October 25.
Activision shared with
that they want everyone to experience everything the game offers at the same time. “The team is fully focused on October 25th,” they said. “We are excited about all the game has to offer across campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies. This year, we made the decision to ensure the community gets to dig in to any and all modes that they want at the same time, so we are back to one massive global launch moment October 25. As such, there is no early-access beat this year for Black Ops 6: just the countdown to launch.”
We think this is a smart move.
Recently, players got a taste of the new multiplayer during the open beta, featuring an updated action-hero movement system. But now, everyone has to wait until the official release to play again.
With Activision now under Microsoft’s wing, Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass from day one, though only for specific tiers. As we count down to October 25, when the game releases on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, let’s keep an eye out for more exciting updates!
