Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Preload & Launch Times Details

-

In the world of gaming, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is almost here.

Get ready to start downloading the game early! On Monday, October 21, everyone can begin preloading. But when you can actually start playing depends on where you are and what system you use. For example, if you’re using the Microsoft Store on PC, the game will become available anywhere from 4 AM PT to 11 PM PT on October 24. On Steam and Battle.net, however, the action kicks off at 9 PM PT on October 24, which is midnight on the East Coast (technically October 25). PlayStation and Xbox folks will follow the same regional schedule as the Microsoft Store, with times ranging between 4 AM PT / 7 AM ET and 11 PM PT / 2 AM ET.

Launch Schedule for Black Ops 6
– Xbox / PC Microsoft Store: Any time from 4 AM PT to 11 PM PT on October 24
– PlayStation: Same as Xbox and PC, 4 AM PT to 11 PM PT on October 24
– Steam and Battle.net: Starts at 9 PM PT on October 24 / Midnight ET October 25

Activision hasn’t shared how big the preload files are yet, but according to

, the PS5 version of the campaign will take up more space than the PS4 version. The first campaign pack for the PS5 is about 16.4GB, while the second one is around 20GB. On the PS4, the two packs are 1.5GB and 15.9GB. Unfortunately, we don’t have details about the multiplayer download size for PS5, but PS4’s is reportedly 12.1GB. By the way, no preload info is available for the Zombies mode yet.

The game officially comes out on October 25 and will be available as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass. This means you can play it on PC, console, or even through the cloud if you have the Ultimate plan or PC Game Pass.

We sometimes wonder why file sizes vary so much between systems.

If you’re into the story mode, GameSpot has a guide to catch you up on the Black Ops plotline, which can get a bit tricky since this is the sixth game in the series. Also, remember you’ll need to be online to play the campaign in Black Ops 6.

Looking ahead, Treyarch has announced that the fan-favorite Nuketown map will make its return on November 1. Plus, the developers are making efforts to reduce hate speech in the game, which is a good step forward.
