On November 4, a fresh update hit Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, bringing with it significant changes that many players have been waiting for.
In this new patch, the flashy and overpowering flashbangs got dialed down, their blinding effect now lasting 20% less time, while the notorious snaking movement also faced a slowdown. Treyarch finally said, “enough snaking,” addressing a tactic where players quickly alternate between crouching and lying down to dodge bullets behind cover. This tricky movement now has a cooldown to make it less sneaky. Another notable tweak is the Recon Combat Speciality bonus, which now gives players a peek through walls for 1.5 seconds instead of 2, making things a bit fairer. But don’t get too comfy, the update didn’t tackle the flashbang XP trick just yet.
Some weapons like the XM4, Ames 85, and Model L saw their power and range slightly reduced, while submachine guns got beefed up for better mid-range action. Fans often feel like these updates keep the game fresh and exciting. On the bright side, the beloved Nuketown map, already in a 24/7 playlist since November 1, is now playable in private games too.

Season 1 of Call of Duty is set to launch on November 14, integrating all the cool stuff from Black Ops 6 into Warzone. You can also sneak a peek at the upcoming multiplayer maps for Season 1.
Moving on to some stability improvements: the game is now more stable when players check out the Message of the Day or chat using voice comms. If you’re tackling Prestige Challenges, your progress will now show up correctly in Multiplayer and Zombies. And Bailey? Yep, they’ve fixed the issue where she wasn’t holding the right pistol in the menu.
When it comes to maps, Nuketown’s now open for private matches, and they’ve improved how players spawn in matches, especially in the Infected mode. Spawning is always a work in progress, with the aim to make it as safe as possible across all maps and modes.
Weapons continue to evolve as players share their favorite builds. Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns have seen changes, with ARs now less deadly at close range and SMGs getting better mid-range hits.
There’s a bunch of other tweaks too: shotgun slugs won’t one-hit kill anymore, perks like Recon Combat Specialty have seen duration cuts, and gear like flashbangs are less intense.
As the team keeps tweaking perks and combat specialties, they’re watching data and listening to player feedback. Popular perks are getting adjustments, like the Recon and Enforcer, with cost changes for perks like Dispatcher.
Finally, the update also brings changes to XP and weapon earning rates, ensuring players get rewarded for their performance. Issues with the Gunsmith removing optic attachments are being looked into, and a minor UI fix in Zombies ensures GobbleGum names update correctly.
And that’s the scoop! Keep an eye out for more updates as the developers continue to fine-tune the game.
