Concord’s story is one of failure and desperate last-minute attempts at glory.
After its disappointing launch, Sony decided to remove Concord from the shelves. With just a few days left before it’s gone forever, players are frantically trying to earn a rare Platinum trophy by repeatedly killing their own characters in Rivalry matches.
According to IGN, Rivalry was designed as a best-of-seven contest with two teams of five players. But instead of playing normally, players are jumping off cliffs to give the rival team a win while also earning experience points for themselves.
We think it’s kind of funny how people will do anything for a trophy.
Developer Firewalk Studios could have changed the game to stop this tactic, but with only two days left, it seems they won’t bother. The big question now is whether players can get that Platinum trophy before the game disappears for good.
Sony had big dreams for Concord, even featuring it in an episode of Secret Level, a new video game series on Prime Video coming in December. By then, Concord will be long gone, and the episode will serve as a reminder of what could have been… for everyone except those still hunting that elusive trophy.
Concord will go offline on September 6. Whether it will come back someday is a mystery.
