On November 19, Remedy Entertainment shared news about Control 2, revealing it’s going to be an action-RPG.
People might think of games like Diablo when they hear action-RPG, but it seems Control 2 will keep the spirit of the original game. Remedy said, “Let people speculate, but suffice to say, Control 2 is a natural continuation to the first game, holding on to key tenets of storytelling and spectacle, but leaning even further into player agency, exploration and RPG mechanics.” This means there will be more chances to explore and make choices.
In an investor video, they mentioned wanting to reach more players with the sequel, though what this really means is still a mystery. And Control fans, here’s something exciting: early 2025 will bring a free update, letting you unlock some older content.
This “older content” might include cool outfits that were once hard to get, like the Extradimensional Suit from the AWE DLC or the Urban Response outfit found in the Digital Deluxe edition for PS4. We wonder what other surprises await!
Fans are eager to see what happens next.
For those using Macs, mark February 12, 2025, on your calendar because that’s when Control Ultimate Edition arrives. No word yet on when Control 2 itself will drop, but while waiting, the multiplayer game FBC Firebreak is coming out next year. Plus, if you’re curious, Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC has a sneak peek of what’s to come.
