Rewind to May 2024: CD Projekt Red said nobody was working on Cyberpunk 2077, something that hadn’t happened in a decade. But before that, they released the Phantom Liberty expansion in September 2023, followed by the last big update in December 2023.
Since its debut in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 stumbled out of the gate, plagued by bugs and glitches. Things got so messy that Sony yanked it from the PSN store. Yet, CD Projekt Red stuck with it, fixing issues and making the game better until it was back on PlayStation.
Fans think it’s cool how games can bounce back after a rough start.
Now, with over 30 million copies sold, it stands as one of the top-selling games ever. Alongside this new update, CD Projekt Red is juggling other projects, including The Witcher 4 and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
