Destiny 2 Exotic Class Items Added to Xur’s Inventory

-

Destiny 2’s mysterious vendor Xur, the guy with a squid face, is about to get some new items in his shop.

Starting August 20, Xur will include a new Exotic class item from The Final Shape expansion in his inventory. This makes it easier for players to find different versions of this gear for their loadouts. Bungie said that on August 26, Xur will definitely have this Exotic class item in stock.

In Bungie’s latest This Week in Destiny blog post, they shared more details. You can buy the Exotic class item from Xur for 41 Strange Coins. Each item will have random perks. Keep in mind, Xur’s stock changes every week, so he might not always have the class item. But you can check every weekend or look at our weekly guide for updates.

With Update 8.0.5.2, Xur’s inventory will change a bit. The “Wildcard” item slot will now sometimes feature an Exotic class item or an Exotic Cipher instead of just random items like before. So while Xur won’t always have the class item, there’s a good chance he’ll have it often enough. However, the perks on these items are random, so you might still need to try a few times to get what you want.

You still need to finish the Dual Destiny mission in the Pale Heart of the Traveler to unlock the Exotic class item. This mission is part of The Final Shape expansion. After completing it, you’ll get your first Exotic class item with two random perks. You can then find more of these items in chests within the Pale Heart or other sources.

Fans really want more ways to get these cool items because they are the best gear in The Final Shape expansion and have great perk combinations for different builds.

Bungie recently tried to make it easier to get these items by adding “bad luck protection” in Update 8.0.5. When you complete an Overthrow event in the Pale Heart, your chances of getting an Exotic class item increase each time you finish it. But players noticed that after this update, the drop rate actually seemed worse instead of better.

So now with this change to Xur’s inventory, players might find it a bit easier to get these sought-after items on certain days each week. Let’s hope it works!
