A glitch in Destiny 2 let players snag the Dawning Event Card Upgrade, usually $10, for absolutely nothing.
Gamers noticed this freebie in the shop, and soon videos and posts popped up, spreading the exciting news. But Bungie was quick to act, turning off the upgrade, which sadly paused all Dawning 2024 Event Card Triumphs and related activities.
Due to disabling the Dawning Event Card, all Event Card Triumphs and progression are on hold until the main issue is resolved.

Some players got annoyed because their progress was stopped, while others worried they might lose what they got for free. Initially, Bungie said that after fixing the issue, everyone would have to buy the Dawning Event Card Upgrade again for 1,000 Silver.
However, things took a surprising twist. Just as Bungie had told players they’d need to pay up again, they changed their minds. The error causing the free upgrade was fixed, and those who grabbed it without paying will get to keep it.
UPDATE: We have identified the underlying issue impacting the price of the Dawning Event Card Upgrade.
