As Halloween approaches, Destiny 2 gears up for the Festival of the Lost, offering some exciting new rewards.
In this year’s spooky celebration, players can get their hands on a special armor piece without going through the tricky Dual Destiny mission. Plus, there’s a chance to snag Superblack, a cool all-black shader that’s been missing since the Final Shape expansion launched. Bungie has shared all the juicy details about how to grab these goodies in their latest blog post.
During the festival, gamers can collect candy, which is the event’s currency, to trade with Eva for some neat gear. With enough candy and an Eerie Engram, you can buy an Exotic class item from her. Now, this is great because usually, you’d need to finish the Dual Destiny mission in the Pale Heart of the Traveler to get it. That mission is really fun, but it can be tough since you need a buddy to play with, and there’s no matchmaking. So, if you don’t have a partner to help, it can be a problem.
Fans love when games offer more ways to get cool stuff without too much hassle.
Even though you can buy the Exotic class item from Eva, you still need to own The Final Shape expansion. These items come with two random perks from other Exotic armors, letting you mix abilities for unique builds. You can buy as many as you like to find the right combo. But if you do complete Dual Destiny, you can “attune” your items for specific perks.
Superblack is making a comeback too! It’s a shader that turns your gear completely black. To get it, you’ll have to dive deep into the festival and complete the Ghost Writer event challenge, which involves 15 event tasks. Superblack used to be a reward for finishing Into the Light, but once that event ended, it vanished.
This is the first time Superblack is available again, and the best part? It’s free for all Destiny players, just like the festival itself. The event hasn’t changed much from before; you’ll still battle bosses in haunted Lost Sectors to collect candy while wearing fun masks. This year, there are seven new masks and a new shotgun called Arcane Embrace, which fires two quick shots. For more details, check out Bungie’s blog.
