It’s that time of year again—Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost is back for 2024!
This year’s festival feels a bit different because they’ve made things simpler. Spectral Pages are gone, so now you only need to collect Manifested Pages and use them to unlock stories in the Tales of the Forgotten. As you dive into these tales, you’ll also have the chance to earn the Ghost Writer title. If you don’t mind spending some time in Haunted Sectors or playing a bit of Crucible or Gambit, gathering lots of Manifested Pages isn’t tough. Here’s how you can easily gather those pages and what to do with them.
How to get Manifested Pages in Destiny 2
To kick things off, head over to Eva Levante at the Tower. Finish the first Haunted Sector quest to start exploring the Shrouded Pages in the Tales of the Forgotten Vol. 4.
Things are more straightforward now. Before, you had to get Spectral Pages and then turn them into Manifested Pages. Now, you skip that step and get Manifested Pages right away.
As you play, you can earn Manifested Pages by completing various activities, but you need to wear a Festival of the Lost mask for them to drop. Additionally, you’ll get these pages as rewards for finishing Haunted Sectors, even without a mask, although wearing one is still a good idea. The event runs from October 29 to November 12.
If you want extra pages, focus on defeating the Headless One enemies in Haunted Sectors. Taking down 10 in one go will give you bonus pages on top of what you normally earn.
Some activities, like Heroic Public Events, give you more pages but take longer to finish. Sometimes people find clever ways to quickly farm pages, and we’ll share any good strategies if they’re discovered.
How Haunted Sectors work
Haunted Sectors are three-player Lost Sectors where you fight Headless Ones. Try to defeat as many as you can since beating 10 in one run gives you extra Manifested Pages, making the event less of a grind.
To make a Headless One appear, stand in a glowing circle and fill up a meter before the circle disappears. It’s pretty simple, so you shouldn’t have much trouble.
For those who want a tougher challenge, there’s an Expert version of Haunted Sectors that offers more pages and high-stat masks, but matchmaking is turned off. Luckily, you can use Fireteam Finder to team up with others.
What to do with Manifested Pages
Take your Manifested Pages to the book near Eva to buy new chapters in the Tales of the Forgotten Vol. 4. The prices vary, but you can also unlock chapters from past years with one page each. Completing these chapters helps with the Bookworm challenges, earning you rewards like a shader and sparrow. Completing all challenges is necessary to unlock the Ghost Writer challenge.
The festival offers lots of cool stuff, including a new shotgun called Arcane Embrace. But many people are excited about getting the Superblack shader again. You can also use this event to bypass Dual Destiny and get Exotic class items.
