Destiny 2’s latest episode, Echoes, introduces new activities and weapons.
One exciting addition is the Speleologist, a Solar machine gun with a high fire rate of 900 RPM. This makes it perfect for quickly taking down many small enemies or dealing significant damage to tougher foes. Thanks to its Solar perks, this weapon fits well with other Echoes gear and Solar builds.
How To Get Speleologist
To get the Speleologist, you’ll need to complete Echoes activities like Battlegrounds, Enigma Protocol, and Breach Executable. You’re guaranteed one version of the gun by finishing the weekly Echoes story missions. If you want more rolls, you’ll have to finish Act 3’s Nessus Sample missions to unlock the ability to tune Echoes Engrams at Failsafe.
Speleologist God Rolls
Speleologist PvE God Roll
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake / Fluted Barrel
- Arrowhead Brake: +30 Recoil, +10 Handling
- Fluted Barrel: +5 Stability, +15 Handling
- Magazine: Appended Mag / Tactical Mag
- Appended Mag: +14 Magazine
- Tactical Mag: +7 Magazine, +5 Stability, +10 Reload Speed
- First Perk: Enlightened Action / Envious Assassin
- Enlightened Action: Dealing damage significantly improves reload speed and handling.
- Envious Assassin: Defeating targets with other weapons before drawing this one transfers additional ammo to the magazine from reserves. This effect can overflow the magazine based on the number of targets defeated.
- Second Perk: Incandescent / Killing Tally
- Incandescent: Defeating a target spreads a longer-lasting scorch to those nearby. More powerful combatants and opposing Guardians cause scorch in a larger radius.
- Killing Tally: Final blows increase this weapon’s damage until it is stowed or reloaded. Improves magazine size.
- Masterwork: Stability
Speleologist is great for clearing lots of enemies fast in PvE. Even if your build isn’t super specialized, its perks make it useful. Focus on boosting stability so you can land critical hits consistently while firing off tons of ammo. Increasing magazine size and reload speed is also helpful for keeping up your attack momentum.
We love how this weapon just wipes out everything in sight so quickly!
Enlightened Action is awesome for boosting reload speed. If you prefer more bullets upfront, go with Envious Assassin. The perk Incandescent is fantastic since it causes explosions that spread damage to nearby foes without needing a specific build. Killing Tally boosts damage after some kills and can be fun too!
