Diablo 4 Celebrates Year of the Dragon with Limited-Time Event

-

Oh boy, Diablo 4’s going all out for the Year of the Dragon. They’ve got this new shindig called Lunar Awakening. It’s jazzing up the usual grind with some sweet, sweet loot.

So, here’s the scoop from their blog. This whole bash is for the Eternal and Seasonal realms alike. Kicks off on February 6, runs till the 20th. Players get to mess around with these beefy Lunar Shrine effects. Think of ’em like the usual shrine buffs on steroids. You’ll stumble upon them in all the usual nooks and crannies.

Now, onto something a bit random. Ever noticed how sizes like “640 × 360” or “480 × 270” pop up? Makes you wonder who decides these things, right? Anyway, back to Diablo 4.

You’ll need a browser that’s up to snuff for videos. And, uh, there’s this thing about invalid file formats. A real bummer when you can’t dive into the content. They even make you enter your birthday to watch videos. Privacy policy and terms of use and all that jazz.

Now playing: Diablo 4 | Lunar Awakening Event Trailer. Sounds epic, doesn’t it?

But wait, there’s more! Lunar Shrines aren’t just your garden-variety power-up. They pack a wallop with 50% bonus XP and a 30% boost in your sprint. And get this, Nightmare Dungeon Sigils can get this Ancestor’s Favor thingy. It cranks all shrines in the dungeon up to Lunar level and throws in extra glyph XP when you wrap up. Best part? These sigils stick around even after the party’s over. Blizzard’s basically saying, “Go nuts, hoard ’em like there’s no tomorrow.”

As you’re tearing it up in Sanctuary, you’re racking up Ancestor’s Favor. It’s this new currency for snagging rewards during the event. There are 10 tiers of goodies, including six snazzy cosmetic items. And, of course, there’s a bunch of Lunar Awakening-themed merch up for grabs in the in-game shop.

Diablo 4 just rolled into its third season, Season of the Construct. It’s got these new, trap-laden Vaults and a robot buddy you can tweak. The crowd was kinda meh about it until a patch came along and spiced things up.

Looking ahead, Diablo 4’s not slowing down. New seasons every three months and the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, is on the horizon for late 2024. Hang onto your hats, folks. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
