Jodi Benson, known as the voice of Ariel, has finally revealed she also voiced Eva in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater under the alias Suzetta Miñet.
In the latest chapter of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series, Benson acts alongside David Hayter, who is known for playing Naked Snake. During an interview, she explained why she chose a different name for this role, which was quite different from her usual, more family-friendly characters. Benson shared, “The various projects that I am affiliated with in my career are sort of family-based, children-based.” It was Kris Zimmerman Salter, their voice director, who suggested she use a different name.
Benson recalled how Slater asked about her childhood dog’s name, which was Suzette Monet. Slater thought it would be clever to use a similar name, hence Suzetta Miñet was born.
Their story about recording romantic scenes is amusing. Since Benson and Hayter worked separately, they had to mime kissing scenes using their hands! All their original voice work, including these quirky scenes, will still be part of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
We think it’s cool when actors share behind-the-scenes stories.
Konami plans to release Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in 2025, but no exact date is set yet. Sadly, there won’t be another remake of the first Metal Gear Solid. Besides Snake Eater, the only other project coming is Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which also remains undated.
