BioWare is gearing up to release Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and they’ve just shared a final trailer before it drops on Halloween.
While earlier trailers mostly showed off Tevinter, where all the action happens, and the buddies you’ll team up with, this new one gives us a peek at the baddies you’ll need to defeat to save Thedas.
“Artifacts that have been dormant for centuries are awakening,” a voice warns, as a fearsome, metal creature resembling Animated Armor roars to life, causing chaos. Later, we see a creepy creature with way too many tentacles grabbing a guard by the throat, likely dragging him into a bad fate.
Emmrich Volkarin, the necromancer buddy of the team, notes, “The dead… stir more easily than they should.” Another voice adds that dragons have been munching on the Blight, and warns that “Darkspawn are charging to Weisshaupt,” home base for the Grey Wardens. Honestly, things are looking pretty grim for the folks in Thedas right now.
In the trailer, we also catch a glimpse of Solas, the main villain, showing off his dangerous new powers from tearing open The Veil. His eyes glow with a weird greenish-blue light, and magic buzzes around his hands. Though Solas was a romantic option in Dragon Age: Inquisition, you won’t find him on your team this time (I mean, it’s hard to date someone who’s trying to end the world). Rook and the Veilguard crew sure have their work cut out for them if they want to thwart Solas’ evil plans.
Fans are so excited to see how this story unfolds.
