Dragon Age: The Veilguard has skyrocketed on Steam, claiming the top sales position, and pushing aside Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
SteamDB reveals that Dragon Age: The Veilguard hit a peak of 70,414 players all playing at once in just the first day. This is a new record for BioWare, surpassing the 59,817 players they had with Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.
For the Steam launch, BioWare made sure the PC version of Dragon Age: The Veilguard was top-notch. It’s approved for Steam Deck and aced Valve’s tests on controls, graphics, speed, and overall experience. Digital Foundry’s analysis praised it as a superb port, which doesn’t always happen with big PC game releases.
Interestingly, you don’t need the EA App to play it on PC, which is a big change since older EA games did. However, players must agree to a third-party EULA, according to the Steam page.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. GameSpot mentioned in their review, “The Veilguard feels like BioWare making a good BioWare game again, and that in itself makes me extraordinarily happy.”
Sometimes, we just love seeing a favorite game developer return to form.
