Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a hidden gem for fans of Mass Effect.
Heads up: Minor spoilers for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Bellara, a companion of Rook’s, joins the adventure early on, and there’s a moment when she can be seen fixing the Eluvian mirror at their base. If you keep chatting with her, she’ll eventually say, “Sorry Rook. I’m just in the middle of some calibrations.”
This echoes Garrus Vakarian’s famous line from Mass Effect 2, where Shepard hears, “Can it wait a bit? I’m in the middle of some calibrations.”
The nod to Mass Effect is fitting because both Bellara and Garrus handle the tech stuff for their squads. BioWare is cooking up another Mass Effect game, but the release date is still a mystery since its announcement in 2020.
Now, you can play Dragon Age: The Veilguard on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also a hit on Steam, marking BioWare’s largest debut there. In our review, we said, “The Veilguard feels like BioWare making a good BioWare game again, and that in itself makes me extraordinarily happy.”
Sometimes, fans just love these little Easter eggs!
