This week might just be the perfect chance to snag one of World of Warcraft’s most legendary mounts, Invincible, once owned by the Lich King.
For many players who collect mounts, the Icecrown Citadel raid has been their weekly ritual for 15 long years, hunting for that elusive prize from the Lich King’s remains. Now, during the Wrath of the Lich King Timewalking event happening in The War Within, there’s chatter on Reddit about a seemingly better chance to win Invincible. Surprisingly, the prize comes from the Cache of Timewarped Treasures, a reward from doing the Timewalking version of the Ulduar raid instead of the usual Lich King battle.
To get this special quest, players should head over to the Wrath of the Lich King version of Dalaran, easily reachable through each faction’s portal room. Look for NPCs by the fountain with statues and grab the Disturbance Detected: Ulduar quest. With the Group Finder feature, players can join a raid group, and the good news is, only Yogg-Saron, the final boss, needs to be taken down. This means you can skip most of the raid and save loads of time!
People have been sharing their wins on the WoW subreddit. Although no one is exactly sure of the drop rate for Invincible from the Cache, it definitely feels like the odds are better than fighting the Lich King himself.

Blizzard has also announced that on October 22, the first big update for The War Within, patch 11.0.5, will launch. This update will bring a big celebration for WoW’s 20th anniversary, offering players the chance to earn revamped versions of some of the game’s most famous armor sets, tackle Timewalking versions of classic dungeons and raids, and enjoy even more surprises.
