Elden Ring Nightreign: No Live-Service, Affordable Price

-

From Software’s new game, Elden Ring: Nightreign, isn’t seen by the creators as a live-service game despite its multiplayer vibe.

In a chat with PC Gamer, Junya Ishizaki, the game’s director, explained that Nightreign is designed to be whole and complete when you buy it. Everything you need is already there, “It’s not what we’d consider a live-service game,” he mentioned. The developers want players to unlock everything right from the start.

Talking about buying Elden Ring: Nightreign, PC Gamer pointed out that Bandai Namco plans to price it similar to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which was $40 at launch, unlike the usual $60 to $70 for games now.

The big reveal of Elden Ring: Nightreign took place at The Game Awards yesterday. It’s set in a mysterious place called Limveld, where players choose from eight characters and face a risky journey alone or with friends to beat the Nightlord over a “three-day-and-night cycle.”

Bandai Namco described it as a “condensed action-RPG” with a roguelike twist. Players will get new experiences each time they play in Limveld, with special items they can keep. It’s set to come out in 2025.

Sometimes, fans just want a game that’s fun right away.
