The Elder Scrolls Legends, a free card game, has been pulled from Steam, and its servers are set to shut down on January 30, 2025.
The game’s Steam page (via Rock Paper Shotgun) expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for playing and we hope you have enjoyed your time in Legends.” This game, launched in 2017, shares its fantasy universe with the main Elder Scrolls series. It was one of Bethesda’s mobile games from that era, alongside others like Fallout Shelter and The Elder Scrolls: Blades.
Although updates for The Elder Scrolls Legends stopped in 2019, players still received events and rewards. Recently, many live-service games have been canceled. For instance, Sony’s Concord, a hero shooter, was taken offline just two weeks after its launch and permanently ended in October, coinciding with the closure of Firewalk Studios.
In a surprising twist, Bethesda unveiled The Elder Scrolls: Castles for iOS and Android in September. This game lets players manage their own castle, much like Fallout Shelter, where they can protect their realm from invaders.
Sometimes, we get excited about new games but have to wait a long time to see them.
Eager fans await The Elder Scrolls 6, though it remains years away. In 2023, Todd Howard shared thoughts on announcing the game too soon, while Bruce Nesmith remarked that meeting the high expectations for The Elder Scrolls 6 might be “almost impossible.”
