Fallout 76 Expansion: Pet a Good Dog

-

Summer saw Fallout 76 fans buzzing about the arrival of camp pets, and today, it’s happening with the Gleaming Depths update introducing a Bombay Cat and a white German Shepherd.

This update, the biggest for Fallout 76 so far, also begins Season 19: The Scientific Forge, where M.O.D.U.S., a clever AI, and the Enclave plan to use science for the country’s revival. From this update, players can expect some crazy science weapons like the Tesla Cannon and fun items like the Enclave Grill Cooking Station. But don’t get too attached, only one pet at a time!

Sometimes, fans just want more cute animals in their games.

Microsoft and Bethesda have hinted at something exciting for 2025—players might control a Ghoul! This isn’t part of today’s update but is scheduled for March 2025 when Season 20 kicks off. Now, let’s dive into the details of the Gleaming Depths update.

– Campfire Tales: Volatile and Toxic Blood Mutations
– Free Range: Resilient and Swift-Footed Mutations

– Bloodsucker: Moved to Endurance with enhanced healing.

VISUAL TWEAKS FOR EXPLOSIONS

Screen flashes from explosions have been reduced in radius for a better visual experience. Notably, the Fatman and Fatman MIRV explosions have been adjusted. Let us know if these changes help reduce unnecessary flashes.

WEAPON AND ARMOR BALANCING

Weapons have been rebalanced to meet player expectations, with damage increases for many weapons like the 10mm Pistol and Double Barrel Shotgun. Armor classifications have also been updated, such as Brotherhood Recon now being Heavy Armor.

AP COST REDUCTIONS

Several weapons have seen their AP costs lowered, making them more energy-efficient during battles. For instance, the 10mm SMG and Fat Man now require less AP.

CREATURE ADJUSTMENTS

Creatures using player weapons will now drop NPC versions, with adjustments to balance. Additionally, changes to health, damage, and resistances ensure a smoother scaling from level 1 to 100, with some creatures becoming less threatening at mid-levels.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS

New settings are available for better accessibility. Speech-to-Text and screen narration options have been added, alongside UI navigation improvements for smoother gameplay.
