In the Fallout universe, the focus has always been on post-nuclear America, but fan projects like Fallout London and the upcoming Fallout: Nuevos Mexico are showing us glimpses of life elsewhere.
Check out this video:
The trailer, spoken in Spanish, offers English subtitles when enabled. A woman with a fierce disdain for “those from the north, with their shiny armor and stories of greatness,” narrates. Her identity remains a mystery, but she proudly runs a drug cartel and shows no remorse. As the story unfolds, hints emerge of captives at her villa meeting gruesome fates, possibly even being eaten.
Led by Zapshock, the Fallout: Nuevo Mexico mod is under development, entirely separate from Bethesda. On YouTube, Zapshock explains, “The following content has been created with the intention of representing a dark, fictional reality inspired by the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout. It does not seek to glorify or idolize acts of violence committed by criminal groups, but rather to highlight the dangers of a devastated world.”
Mexico City is set to be the centerpiece of this mod, though completion is still some way off. There’s no release date yet, but it’s planned as a PC exclusive. Can’t wait!
