Fender Capcom $2,000 Monster Hunter Guitar

-

Capcom and Fender have teamed up to make a really cool guitar for Monster Hunter fans.

This special guitar, called the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster, costs $2,000 on Fender’s website and is coming out next year to celebrate 20 years of Monster Hunter. The guitar’s design is inspired by Rathalos, aiming to capture its “majestic presence” with details on the body and fretboard. It even has a (fake) tortoiseshell pickguard, which might make you think about whether dinosaurs were more like birds or reptiles.

Other features of the guitar are similar to a Fender Telecaster Custom, such as a humbucker at the neck and a single-coil pickup at the bridge. It also has a bone nut, but probably not from a monster in the game. There’s a special 20th-anniversary logo on the neckplate, and like the games, it’s made in Japan. This is unique because most Fenders are made in California or Mexico.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on February 28, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Considering how successful Monster Hunter World was, there’s a lot of excitement around this new game.
