Fortnite Adds Parental Time Limits

-

Kids who love Fortnite might soon face time restrictions if their parents decide to use new features.

Epic Games has added two fresh parental controls: one to limit playtime and another to track it. Now, parents can set daily playtime limits and even choose specific hours when their kids can play. Imagine only allowing Fortnite fun from 3-5 PM on school days; that’s now doable.

In-game alerts will notify players when they have 30 minutes left. Kids can ask for more time, but it’s up to the parents to grant it. Spoiler alert: they’ll ask for more time.

Some might think they can dodge these limits by switching devices, but Epic ensures the controls apply across all platforms.

The time report feature sends weekly summaries of game hours and any extra time given. These new tools join existing controls like managing voice chat and skin purchases.

People often wonder if these changes will make a difference.

Looking ahead, Fortnite plans to introduce three new high-profile skins. Shaquille O’Neal hinted at his upcoming in-game character during a DJ set. Joining him might be Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Billy the Puppet from Saw. And let’s not forget the big Lego Fortnite update that recently dropped, bringing the Lost Isles to life.
