Fortnite Returns to iPhone After 4 Years

-

Epic Games Store is now available on mobile devices in Europe.

From today, Android and iOS users can download the store, giving them access to Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe, and the new mobile version of Fall Guys. This marks the first update for Fortnite on iOS in four years, aligning perfectly with the Marvel-themed Absolute Doom event. It’s interesting because the last iOS update also coincided with a Marvel season during Chapter 2.

The biggest news here is Fall Guys coming to mobile—it’s the same fun game, just on your phone now. All your items will carry over, and you can play with friends on other platforms thanks to cross-progression and cross-platform play.

For Android users, you’ll need to move on from the old Epic Games Launcher, which only let you install and update Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe. The new Epic Games Store for mobile aims to be like the Amazon Appstore for Android, offering many games from different developers and publishers.

To install it on Android, you’ll need to sideload it—something any Android phone can do. For iOS users in Europe, you can install it thanks to the European Union’s Digital Markets Act. However, in the US, Epic’s games remain off iOS devices because of an ongoing legal battle between Epic and Apple.

In places like the UK and Japan, similar legal decisions are still pending. Epic remains hopeful that they will win these cases too. But for now, these changes only affect European players.

Epic is giving away free items to encourage people to try out the new store on mobile. You can get unlocks across Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe—including a free Fortnite skin!

By gaining XP in Fortnite on mobile, you can unlock Katalina’s skin along with her back bling, pickaxe, and wrap. For Fall Guys mobile players, there’s a holographic bean skin up for grabs as well as a Yeetus Hammer pickaxe for Fortnite—just complete five levels! And if you play any amount of Rocket League Sideswipe you’ll get a gold-painted Diestro car for both Fortnite and regular Rocket League. These rewards are available until November 2nd.

Fans love free stuff!

Also worth noting is that a new season of Fortnite has started! You can check out all that’s new in Chapter 5 Season 4—including new weapons, map changes, and battle pass updates.
