Fortnite Server Downtime for Chapter 5 Season 4

-

Update: The Fortnite servers are back online as of just before 6 AM ET, and the new season is now live. Check out all the updates in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, including new weapons, map changes, and the new battle pass. The original story follows.

Right now, Fortnite is down for its usual maintenance, but soon millions of players will dive into Chapter 5 Season 4.

Let’s get back to Fortnite! The previous season with its cool Nitro Fists and crazy car fights has ended, and now we’re waiting for Absolute Doom to start while Epic Games updates the game.

When does Chapter 5 Season 4 start?

When Fortnite servers come back online, we’ll get a new Marvel season! It’s their first since 2020, with a battle pass full of Marvel characters, new map spots from Marvel’s stories, and lots of new weapons.

But when exactly will that happen? Usually, a new Fortnite season starts between early morning and late morning on launch day in the US—this time it’s August 16—but sometimes it takes longer if there are issues with the patch.

This time around, there were some problems last season during the patching process, so they started downtime earlier than usual. This could mean we get to play even sooner! If everything goes smoothly, Fortnite might be back online as early as very early morning in the US.

Once it’s up and running again, expect big changes on the island because Doctor Doom is coming! There will be new bosses, weapons, and secrets waiting to be discovered both on launch day and throughout the season.

It’s likely we’ll see Fortnitemares again—the yearly Halloween event—during Chapter 5 Season 4 too! Last year we had Michael Myers in the game and Ash from Evil Dead before that—wonder who’ll show up this year?

We’ll have all the details on what’s new in Chapter 5 Season 4 once the servers are live again!
