Microsoft has rolled out the new Xbox Game Pass tier called Game Pass Standard.
This new tier, which first appeared for testers in August, is now available to everyone and offers “hundreds” of games for $15/month. However, unlike Game Pass Core and Game Pass Ultimate, new releases from Microsoft won’t be added to Game Pass Standard immediately.
Game Pass Standard aims to provide gamers with more options, according to Microsoft. It includes all the features of Game Pass Core, such as online multiplayer and a selection of games, but boasts a much larger library. While Game Pass Core offers over 40 games, Game Pass Standard has a whopping 369 titles.
According to PureXbox, the Game Pass Standard library has 369 games, whereas Game Pass Ultimate has 506. For those curious about what’s missing, check out this list of games not included in Game Pass Standard, like Starfield, Diablo IV, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
But, if you want to play new Microsoft games like Black Ops 6 on the day they come out, you’ll need Game Pass Ultimate. Microsoft says new titles could take up to 12 months or more to appear on Game Pass Standard, depending on the game.
Fans might find this delay a bit frustrating, but it’s great to have more choices.
