In honor of the game’s 18th birthday, Xbox Game Studios has some exciting news: the upcoming Gears of War game, titled E-Day, will bring back the familiar voices of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago, thanks to John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro. This announcement was shared through the official Gears of War account on X.

Set 14 years prior to the original Gears of War, E-Day follows young Marcus and Dom as they navigate life as soldiers within the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Their world, Sera, enjoys a brief calm until chaos erupts with the Locust Horde’s attack on Emergence Day. The story unfolds in new places like Kalona, a key city in the game.

The Coalition is working on Gears of War: E-Day, though they haven’t revealed when it’ll come out. It’s expected to be available on Xbox Series X|S, yet whispers suggest it might also appear on PlayStation 5. Interestingly, Cliff Bleszinski, the series’ creator, has shown support for the franchise’s potential leap to PS5, despite having left the series long ago.
