When you really look into it, while both games involve bug battles, Extermination is truly the “bug game.”
While Extermination is officially tied to the 1997 film, Helldivers 2 draws its inspiration from the Starship Troopers universe, sharing elements like a galaxy-wide war theme, character outfits, and a sprinkle of humor. But Extermination has a special trick: the mess left by defeated bugs can actually affect the battlefield, either trapping players or providing cover.
