Right now, Helldivers 2 has a big new update called Omens of Tyranny.
This update, announced at The Game Awards, introduces a new civilization called the Illuminate, who have psychic abilities that can take over people from Super Earth and turn them into mindless workers. Alongside this, a vehicle that looks like a Jeep and fresh city settings are now part of the game. The impact of these changes on the battle to save Super Earth remains to be seen, but it gives the Game Masters more tricks to outwit players.
Following Arrowhead Game Studios’ 60-day plan to improve Helldivers 2, this update arrives after a previous patch that wasn’t well-received due to changes like weakening the beloved flamethrower. Now, the game seems to be in a much better place, and we expect more gamers to dive back in and enjoy the enhanced experience this weekend.

Helldivers 2 was selected as one of GameSpot’s Best Games of 2024. Despite some ups and downs throughout the year, it consistently shines as a fantastic game to play with friends, offering hours of laughter and thrilling explosions. Plus, the music in the game? Absolutely fantastic.
