Horizon Zero Dawn Price Doubles on PlayStation & PC

-

Sony has quietly doubled the price of Horizon Zero Dawn on the PlayStation Store after announcing its PS5 remaster this week.

According to MP1st, the game’s digital version jumped from $20 to $40, regardless of where you live. This price hike also affects the PC version. Earlier this year, the game was removed from the PS Plus PlayStation Hits lineup, sparking rumors about the PS5 remaster at that time.

The remaster is priced at $50, but if you already own the game on PS4 or PC, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for an additional $10. Sony likely wanted to avoid a situation where players could get the remaster too cheaply. If you bought the digital version at its old price of $20, you would only need to pay $30 total to play the remaster, instead of the full $50.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to release on October 31, just before the kid-friendly Lego Horizon Adventures. The remaster features new voice recordings, better graphics, and accessibility options from its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West. GameSpot praised the original game, saying, “Guerrilla Games has delivered one of the best open-world games of this generation, and redefined its team’s reputation in the process.”

Sometimes, we feel like these price changes come out of nowhere and surprise us.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the remaster, but the price increase has definitely stirred some conversations.
