How to Buy Avowed Using WoW Gold

-

Avowed, the new RPG from Obsidian, will be available on Battle.net and you can use World of Warcraft gold to buy it.

If you’re thinking about using gold to snag Avowed, you’ll need around 1.4 million gold for the $70 version, as reported by PC Gamer. On Battle.net, you can turn your gold into real money credits with WoW Tokens, which IGN explains is quite the process. Basically, you buy a WoW Token for $20, sell it for gold in the game’s auction house, and then swap that gold for a $15 Battle.net balance after Blizzard takes a cut. This balance can be used for anything on Battle.net, including Avowed when it drops in February 2025.

Here’s a video preview of Avowed: https://www.gamespot.com/videos/avowed-refreshes-the-fantasy-action-genre-gamespot-preview-gamescom-2024/2300-6464966/

As of November 15, each WoW Token is worth 269,433 gold, so you’d need five tokens to gather enough gold for Avowed’s cheapest edition. It’s a bit of a long way around to buy a game, but it works, theoretically speaking.

Sometimes we wonder why things have to be so complicated when it comes to buying games.

It was a bit unexpected for Avowed to appear on Battle.net, but not entirely surprising, given Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The game will be offered in both a $70 standard version and a $90 digital premium version, the latter including early access by five days.

For those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Avowed will also be available there. Although initially planned for a 2024 release, the game was pushed back to 2025 to better align with Game Pass scheduling, not because of quality issues.
