Keanu Reeves is set to voice Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at the end of December.
But before that, he’ll be bringing Shadow to life earlier in December for a DLC in Sonic x Shadow Generations, as revealed during Sony’s State of Play.
Fans got a sneak peek of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack DLC at State of Play, showing Reeves’ Shadow in Tokyo, which is a movie setting.
Shun Nakamura told the PlayStation Blog that the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie pack isn’t linked to the story of Shadow Generations. It’s just “bonus content,” but Shadow will control the same as in the main game.
Nakamura also mentioned, “The development team also lives in Tokyo, so we tried to develop this setting an enjoyable place as a Sonic game but also clearly showing the Tokyo-likeness.” He said they even went to the actual area for inspiration and added, “We feel it is very exciting to play as Shadow in a real existing city, so please look forward to it.”
We think it’s super cool when games use real-life places.
Sonic x Shadow Generations is hitting all consoles and PC on October 25, and the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack drops on December 12. You can also get the DLC with the Sonic x Shadow Generations Digital Deluxe Edition.
