-

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you will encounter numerous characters, some of which are helpful to your party, while others may cause you trouble. Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset are two such characters that you might have difficulty finding. This guide will help you locate them in the game. However, be aware that this article contains spoilers.

Quick Facts

  • Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset can be found in the Mind Flayer Colony.
  • The Mind Flayer Colony becomes accessible after defeating Ketheric Thorm for the first time in Moonrise Towers.
  • Zevlor is in a chamber with several pods and a control panel, while Zariel’s Asset (Mizora) is located in the next room with a brine pool.

Where to Find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset in Baldur’s Gate 3

The quests to find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset can be completed in the Mind Flayer Colony, which becomes accessible after you defeat Ketheric Thorm for the first time in Moonrise Towers. The game’s instructions may be unclear, as the quest logs suggest that they are in Moonrise Towers itself, potentially causing you to waste time searching for them there.

Zevlor’s Location

To locate Zevlor, jump down the tower opening after Ketheric Thorm escapes. This will take you to the Mind Flayer Colony, a mini-dungeon that prevents fast travel to your camp. Ensure you have a strong party composition before entering. As you explore the area, you will come across a large chamber with several pods, some containing Mind Flayers, and a control panel nearby. You have two choices:

  • Purge – This kills everyone in the pods, including Zevlor and other imprisoned NPCs.
  • Release – Everyone will emerge from the pods, and you will have to fight four Mind Flayers, but Zevlor and the other NPCs will help you.

After the battle, speak with Zevlor to learn of the events that occurred. The Tieflings will no longer welcome him back, and he must forge his own path.

Zariel’s Asset Location

For the Zariel’s Asset objective, your target is in the next room with a brine pool, which may reward another Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen. The pod contains Mizora, the devil who refuses to release Wyll from his pact. It turns out she was the one trapped here, and you were only conversing with a projection earlier in the game. Here are your options:

  • You can decide what happens to Wyll’s pact with Mizora. The History and Performance checks only offer additional information. If you pick Intimidation, Mizora will make you believe she’ll release Wyll after six months.
  • As for releasing Mizora, choose the Strength check or “unleash” option to free her. If you pick the “annihilate” option, Mizora will die, and she’ll drag Wyll to the hells of Avernus. Most companions, especially Karlach, will not be happy and will blame you for your mistake.

Zevlor’s Fate

Early in Act 3, there is a cutscene where Orin the Red sends her regards, revealing a maimed and tortured Zevlor who has bled to death. This outcome occurs if you ignore the pod area (neither releasing nor purging the people in the pods). It is unclear if Zevlor meets a better fate if you do rescue him.

Now you know where to find Zevlor and Zariel’s Asset in Baldur’s Gate 3, and you can focus on defeating Ketheric Thorm to conclude the second act of the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with activities and secrets, providing an adventure that can take countless hours to complete. For additional tips, visit our BG3 guides hub.
