Guess what? Hangar 13 is cooking up a new Mafia game!
This time, it’s a prequel called Mafia: The Old Country, set in 1900s Sicily when the Italian mob was just starting out. The big reveal happened during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
We only got a tiny teaser for Mafia: The Old Country, and it left us wanting more. Hangar 13 promised to give us more details this December, which might coincide with The Game Awards, but that’s still up in the air.
Interestingly, “The Old Country” is also the name of a mission in Mafia II set during World War II in Italy. Check it out here.
Hangar 13 has some history with the Mafia series. They made Mafia: The Definitive Edition (now on Xbox Game Pass) and also developed Mafia III. Recently, they switched gears with TopSpin 2K25, which is totally different from their usual Mafia style.
Besides the new Mafia game, 2K dropped more news at Gamescom Opening Night Live. Civilization VII got some love, and they also announced Borderlands 4. If you want all the juicy details from the show, head over to GameSpot’s gallery for the full scoop.
Fans are really excited about these announcements!
