NetEase, the brains behind Marvel Rivals, said sorry to players who were unfairly kicked out of the game for allegedly cheating.
The mix-up happened when some gamers using special software were wrongly marked as cheaters, even though they played fair and square. NetEase explained (via IGN) that they were sorry for the mistake and promised not to ban honest players. They figured out what went wrong, fixed the bans, and apologized for the trouble.
NetEase is working hard to make its cheat-detecting systems better and wants players to report any cheaters they find. “We’re all about giving everyone a fun and fair gaming time,” they said. They’re putting in lots of effort to catch cheaters fast and accurately. If anyone sees cheating, NetEase encourages them to report it. And if someone thinks they got banned by mistake, they can reach out through the game or Discord for help.
We feel it’s good that they’re trying to fix things.
Exciting stuff is coming too, like Marvel Rivals Season 1 and new Fantastic Four characters, with a cool trailer on the way. Maybe HERBIE will join the fun!
Despite the hiccup, Marvel Rivals has been a smash hit, drawing in 10 million players within three days and doubling that in two weeks. Over on Steam, it hit a high point with nearly half a million players at once, making it one of the top games there.
