During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Marvel Rivals announced its release date set for December 6.
The latest trailer showcased Captain America’s intense clash with Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier, and concluded with a mysterious scene of Dr. Doom manipulating events like a chess master. Since its first reveal in March, NetEase has gradually disclosed more about this 6v6 PvP shooter. The game features a wide variety of heroes and villains, including familiar faces like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Storm, as well as darker characters like Loki, Venom, and Hela.
There have been several closed beta tests, the last one ending in early August. Originally announced for PC, Marvel Rivals will also be available on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 consoles. Inspired heavily by Overwatch, the game includes three unique roles—Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist—destructible environments, and a “team-up” feature that promotes cooperative gameplay.
We really enjoy seeing how players react to new games. The past betas allowed many gamers to try it for free and get a feel for this fresh PvP Marvel experience while providing feedback on character balance. So far, players have expressed their frustration with Venom due to his overwhelming strength causing chaos.
