MLB The Show 25 Unveils New Details, Retires Sets & Seasons

-

After the 2024 Major League Baseball season wrapped up, Sony’s San Diego Studio revealed exciting details about MLB The Show 25, including a major change: the Sets and Seasons feature is out.

Before MLB 25 even hits the shelves, Sets and Seasons are saying goodbye. In Season 4 of MLB The Show 24, you can play with any card from past seasons that you have.

The PlayStation Blog announcement says, “We appreciate the feedback from our community and have also decided that Sets and Seasons will not be returning in MLB The Show 25, allowing every card to be used freely throughout the year,” which means players can enjoy all their cards without limits, showing how MLB 24’s Season 4 is paving the way for the next game.

People are curious about what the new game will bring, and it’s exciting!

As you play Season 4, you can start collecting rewards for MLB 25 with the Now & Later MLB The Show Packs. These packs can later be traded in for regular packs in the new game. There are also hints of cool new features coming up, like more detailed player journeys in Road to the Show, new Diamond Dynasty elements replacing Sets and Seasons, and improved Franchise trade metrics and offseason activities. Gameplay is getting a revamp too, with enhancements in quick-time events, defensive AI, and updated pathing for thrilling in-the-moment action.

More news about MLB 25 will come out as we get closer to its launch, expected around the start of the new Major League Baseball season in March.
