Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Preloading: How to Find It

-

If you’re excited about trying out the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, get ready to preload it soon.

PlayStation Plus users are lucky because they can start downloading the beta before everyone else, although it’s a bit tricky to find. On your PS5, you’ll need to dig through the different versions of Wilds to locate it. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Open the PlayStation Store on your PS5
  • Look up Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Find the three dots icon next to the wishlist option on the main page
  • Choose the Monster Hunter Wilds beta from the list

Another way is to log into your PlayStation Network account and go directly to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta page. Once you’re back on your PS5, it’ll be waiting in your game library for you to download. This beta is around 16GB, and it offers a decent sneak peek into the full game that drops on February 28, 2025. You can play around with character creation, embark on a Story Trial, and roam freely on the Doshaguma Hunt.

In the game, you’ll face off against creatures like the tough Ajarakan and the Rompopolo that live in oil-rich lands. Players joining the open beta will earn a special pendant for their weapons and a Seikret mount if they buy the full game. Plus, any progress made will carry over when the game launches.

Fans think it’s cool that cross-play will be available between PC, PS5, and Xbox players, though the non-PS5 crowd has to wait a bit longer to join.

Here’s when you can jump into the action based on your gaming system, with the beta wrapping up on November 3 at 6:59 PM PT / 9:59 PM ET for everyone.

On another note, if you’re curious, Capcom has shared the PC requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds, which are surprisingly high, and they’re working hard to make this game an awesome starting point for newcomers.
